Whenever you choose to become a part of any kind of field that is usually populated by hardcore fans of that field the initial steps of becoming involved can be intimidating. Much like starting work at a job with a group of people who have worked together for ages, you are entering a field with a plethora of inside jokes and terminology that stumps you from the first minute. In an effort to speed up your initiation into this group of hardcore enthusiasts in the field of motorcycles the following are a couple of different types of motorcycles you may come across while deciding on what is to be your first motorcycle.
Most people that don’t purchase motorcycles even though they like the general idea of riding in the open don’t purchase because of safety concerns. This idea can be overcome and eliminated with the purchase of a Trike, or motorcycle with three wheels that gives you increased power of control of the machine. Some do so because of lack of strength while others want to learn to control a bike without having to deal with the dangers of control, all of these concerns end with a Trike. This is a machine that is frowned upon by a lot of hardcore bikers because of the idea of risk being eliminated, but it is a much safer way for one to ride.
The same hardcore biking enthusiasts that hate the idea of the Trike will love the idea of a classic motorcycle because it says that you have a sense of history in motorcycles in general. A classic motorcycle could be one that has been restored from a previous era of motorcycles or it could be that a maker or individual has chosen to build bikes in a retro style for reasons all their own. Some people want this to give them a nostalgic feeling while others just want to stand out on the road, but either way it is an impressive vehicle to watch or ride. This can be a very expensive venture regardless of the way you go, but if you have the passion or the pocketbook, it can be well worth it!
