Naked Bikes and Sport Bikes

Whenever you choose to become a part of any kind of field that is usually populated by hardcore fans of that field the initial steps of becoming involved can be intimidating. Much like starting work at a job with a group of people who have worked together for ages, you are entering a field with a plethora of inside jokes and terminology that stumps you from the first minute. In an effort to speed up your initiation into this group of hardcore enthusiasts in the field of motorcycles the following are a couple of different types of motorcycles you may come across while deciding on what is to be your first motorcycle.

If someone was to tell you that you were driving for or looking for a “naked” bike then you might be looking for one with no paint, or if you were really bad, a bike that you could ride with no clothes on. While you certainly have the right to ride naked on your own time and property, you probably wouldn’t want to on any type of motorcycle! This “naked” motorcycle is what you see when you see a bike that is basically stripped of all the flash and pomp while being free to the wind and exposed to everyone around. Instead of being covered in beautiful, flashy covering this bike will be little more than a place to sit and some power.

Now, on the exact opposite flipside of the “naked” bike is the sport bike that brings as much flash and awe to the experience as anything. These bikes are usually what you see when you watch a motorcycle race or see someone racing down the road on a bike where they are basically bent entirely forward on the seat. If you are brand new to motorcycles and dying for a sport bike then you might want to swallow your pride and excitement for a little while to learn how to drive a more normal and manageable bike. These bikes can be unbelievably lethal and dangerous, so only the most experienced bikers (with deep pocketbooks) will want to purchase.
